Kısırlık nedir?

Kısırlık “12 aylık korunmasız ilişkiye karşın gebe kalamamadır. Bu, bir çiftin bir yıllık denemeden sonra hamile kalamadığı anlamına gelir. Ancak 35 yaş ve üstü kadınlar için kısırlık, 6 aydan sonra gebe kalamama olarak kabul edilir.

Kısırlık toplumda ne kadar yaygındır?

Kısırlık çiftlerin %10-15’ini etkiler. Bu da onu 20 ila 45 yaş arasındaki kişilerde en sık görülen hastalıklardan biri yapar. Ayrıca bir kadının gebelikle sonuçlanmaksızın hamile kalmayı denediği süre uzadıkça, tıbbi tedavi görmeden hamile kalma şansı o kadar azalır. Normal doğurganlığa sahip çiftlerin çoğu (%85) denemeden sonraki bir yıl içinde hamile kalır. Bir çift ilk yılda gebelik elde edemezse, şansları her ay azalır. Kısırlığa ne sebep olabilir?

Yaş: Bir kadının yaşı, özellikle 30’lu ve 40’lı yaşlara girerken, bebek sahibi olma yeteneği üzerinde büyük bir etkiye sahip olabilir. 20’li yaşlarında veya 30’lu yaşlarının başındaki sağlıklı bir kadının her ay gebe kalma şansı %25-30’dur. Yumurtlama Sorunları

Hasarlı veya Tıkanmış Fallop Tüpleri

Fallop tüpleri, sperm ve yumurtanın genellikle buluştuğu rahime bağlı tüplerdir. Tıkanmış veya hasar görmüş tüpler kısırlığa veya dış gebeliğe (rahim dışında gebelik) neden olabilir. Endometriozis, pelvis ameliyatı veya cinsel yolla bulaşan enfeksiyonlar (belsoğukluğu veya klamidya gibi) geçirmekte olan veya geçirmiş kadınlarda tüplerin tıkanma olasılığı daha yüksektir. Tüplerinin sağlığı konusunda endişe duyan kadınlar, hamile kalmaya çalışma sürecinin başında bunu doktorlarıyla tartışmalıdır.

Erkek faktörü

Tüm kısırlık vakalarının üçte biri erkek partnerdeki bir sorundan kaynaklanmaktadır. Vakaların diğer üçte birinde kısırlık, erkek ve kadın sorunlarının birleşiminden kaynaklanır. Erkek partnerde sperm üretememe veya boşalamama (salınamama) kısırlığa neden olabilir. Sperm kalitesi de önemlidir ve spermin miktarı, hareketi ve şekli ile ölçülür. Bazen diğer tıbbi problemler, bir erkeğin normal miktarlarda veya normal kalitede sperm üretme yeteneğini etkileyebilir. Örneğin, diyabetli erkekler boşalma sorunu yaşayabilir. Kistik fibrozlu erkeklerde spermin boşalmasını önleyen bir tıkanıklık olabilir. Aşırı kilolu erkeklerin, sigara içenlerin veya esrar gibi keyif verici uyuşturucu kullanan erkeklerin spermlerinde sorun yaşama olasılığı daha yüksektir.

Kısırlığım hakkında ne yapabilirim?

Bir üreme uzmanına gitmek, bir çiftin neden gebe kalmadıklarını anlamalarına yardımcı olabilir. Kadınlar bir üreme endokrinoloğuna, erkekler ise üreme konusunda uzmanlaşmış bir üroloğa giderler. Ancak bazı (%10 veya daha fazla) vakalarda, bir çiftin hamilelik elde edemeyişinin bariz bir nedeni olmayabilir. Bu açıklanamayan infertilite/kısırlık olarak bilinir. Üreme tedavileri genellikle açıklanamayan infertilitesi olan bu çiftlere yardımcı olabilir.

Ne zaman bir uzman görmeliyim?
